| EKG/Phlebotomy Brochure | EKG technicians administers the EKG for interpretation and diagnosis by the physician. Their duties include preparing the patient, performing the procedure and ensuring the machine functions properly. The EKG technician may also assist with stress tests, (both Pharmacological and Exercise), and Holter monitoring. This course also provides instruction in the skills needed for the proper collection of blood and other specimens used for diagnostic testing. Emphasis is on ethics, legalities, medical terminology, safety and universal precautions, health care delivery systems, patient relations, anatomy and physiology, and specimen collection. Certification is provided by the National Healthcareer Association.170 instructional hours and (2) 40 hour internships. |
